Might want to read up on the *facts* in the hot-coffee case.  The woman only
sued because (a) the coffee was *dangerously* hot - she got 3rd degree burns
from it, and (b) McDonald's refused to pay for the medical expenses, including
skin grafts, and (c) they found over 700 other cases of people severely burned
by the coffee.

Note in particular number 8:

"Reports also indicate that McDonald's consistently keeps its coffee at 185
degrees, still approximately 20 degrees hotter than at other restaurants. Third
degree burns occur at this temperature in just two to seven seconds, requiring
skin grafting, debridement and whirlpool treatments that cost tens of thousands
of dollars and result in permanent disfigurement, extreme pain and disability
to the victims for many months, and in some cases, years."

If you're still unconvinced, take a cup of water, heat it up to 140F or
so (measure it with a thermometer), and then spill a few drops on the back
of your hand.  Repeat for 150, 160, 170, and 180, and then let me know if
you think it's dangerous or not.
